McHenry Mansion is referred as Modesto’s treasure. It is the only original Victorian Italianate style home in Modesto. Tour the mansion and know the historic details of the city and the mansion. McHenry Museum features the history of Modesto and Stanislaus County. It showcases the city’s past and the pioneers who founded the city through documents and photographs. Several artifacts from the early days are featured here. Within the museum there is a general store, a blacksmith shop, a dentist room exhibit, and a recorder’s office. You’ll find everything from agricultural exhibits to historical paintings, original fire fighting equipments, old-fashioned gadgets and other Modesto memorabilia. Step back in time to the late 1800s at this museum!
